I remember the Moby song and the scene in the movie vividly, it was one of those moments where I decided I will go there one day. This was the day, surprisingly not so hung over, well I wasn't for a change, we set off in our long tail boat from koh phi phi don to koh phi phi leh or le or lee as I have seen it spelled.
Remy felt more comfortable laying on the floor of the boat that day, I think it may have had something to do with a chicken coup (a whole other story).
We stopped for a swim in an amazingly beautiful spot before we went to the main tourist beach. The boat driver took us to a secret entrance, where we swam up to a little cave and made our way through into a small lagoon on the other side of the mountain. I felt like Indiana Jones. After crossing the lagoon we found a small path that led down to the beach.
It was very special that we got to enter this and come down onto the beach just like in the movie.
We missioned over to the edge of the beach away from the many tourists and boats and found a nice spot to swim.
The day wasn't all that sunny so the place didn't pop as much as the pictures had made it out to. The speed boats full of tourist also kinda made it not as special as it could be.
But hey it was still incredible beautiful and it was a fun adventure all the same.
After a while our guide rocked up and we boarded the boat home.
Where I am very sure we would have had a celebratory beverage or two as the sun set.
